“meatball” Home Cooking Goodies: How to Make Danish Meatballs
There are many recipes for juicy meatballs. Today we take a look at our beautiful neighboring country Denmark. Here we have found a recipe for particularly juicy meatballs. You can read exactly how to do it below.
Ingredients for 10-12 pieces:
250 g minced meat, beef
250 g minced pork (at least 10 percent fat)
10 grams of salt
1 egg, size M
3 tablespoons of flour
Black pepper, freshly ground
About 200 ml of milk
butter and oil for frying
And it’s done like this:
First, peel the onion and chop it very finely. Place both types of beef in a bowl along with the salt. Now it must be kneaded very well. This makes the dough nice and smooth and the salt is distributed better, which is important for cooking. The better the salt is distributed, the better the mass binds the milk later.
Then add the chopped onion and the egg and again knead the mixture very well; then you can also add a large amount of flour and ground pepper.
Gradually pour a little milk into the mixture and knead. Exactly how much you need depends on the fat content of the meat. The mass should be nice and soft, but not too heavy.
Put the meat mass in the refrigerator for half an hour, then form ten or twelve meatballs from the mass. Heat a little butter and oil in a pan, then reduce the heat to medium-high and fry the meatballs until cooked on the inside and crispy on the outside. Then drain on paper towels and serve!
Tip: Potatoes, red cabbage, Danish remoulade or Danish cucumber salad go well with the “Frikadeller”.
We always find it exciting to see how meatballs are prepared in other countries. We tried Danish meatballs, also known as meatballs, and were blown away by the unique flavor and juicy experience. Try it too!
