Eton Mess: Heavenly Dessert Recipe from British Recipes

N/A? Do you also have a sweet tooth? Can we get it right – we can’t get enough of the sweet treats. Today we’re looking beyond the borders: To be more specific, we’re taking a look at British menus. Eton Mess is the name of a dish that is repeatedly offered for dessert.

Meringue, cream and strawberries in one dessert? Of course, we immediately had to get our ears pierced and try it ourselves. And this much can be revealed: we were absolutely thrilled, and you probably are too!

By the way: Eton Mess was first mentioned in 1893. It is not entirely certain, but it is assumed that he came from Eton College – a posh private school for boys in the English county of Berkshire. Meanwhile, the dessert is popular throughout the country, even beyond its borders.

British Dessert Recipe: Eton Mess with Strawberries

Today we present you the recipe for Eton Mess – a classic British dessert. Fruity and airy sweet!

the preparation

  1. First wash the strawberries, dry them and remove the green part. Halve the strawberries and mix with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Leave it for a short time.

  2. Put the rest of the powdered sugar in another bowl together with the whipped cream and the mascarpone. Mix with a hand mixer on low; then increase to high until the cream foams.

  3. Now roughly chop the meringue. Prepare four dessert glasses and fill them alternately with strawberries, cream and meringue crumbs. Garnish with strawberries and refrigerate until ready to serve.
